Root Center

June 26, 20243 min read

The root center gives you two types of energy.

  • It’s your get it done now, or get it done later center

  • It’s your ability to handle and hold pressures from situations, problems, money etc…

Which means this is a pressure center to pull or push you into doing something or finishing something, this urge to create and finish has to be managed otherwise like a battery you can burn out and fall into apathy where there is zero pressure to do anything.

In Business your Root Center loves:

  • Deadlines/Prioritizing

  • Allowing the time to get things done

  • Setting the number of intentions for the day/week/month

How you experience pressure depends on if you have this Open or Defined.

When you have your Root Defined (coloured in)

you’re designed to handle pressure, and you do well with deadlines because that creates the pressure to get things done. And if there is no deadline or nothing to create ‘pressure’ you tend to leave the task or project without feeling the need to do it because you don’t feel it’s important.

This is part of why people with a defined pressure center normally procrastinate alot especially entrepreneurs because we don’t have a “boss” breathing down our neck to get everything finished. Which means, if you have a defined pressure center, you need to create healthy pressure to get the things you need to get done using your authority and signature.

At high expression with a Defined Root center:

  • You use your strategy, authority and signature to determine what needs pressure to be done or pursued and leave what’s not

  • You eliminate distractions to finish the most important things

  • You know when to “turn off” the urge to get things done cause it’s not important right now

At low expression with a Defined Root Center

  • You allow fear to drive your root center to keep going to get things done

  • You start doing things “just because” they need to get done though they’re not important

  • You leave things unfinished and jump to the next thing

When you have your Root is Open (not coloured in)

this means you’re not designed to handle a lot of pressure because you have the need or urge to get everything done before the day ends. In fact, if you have a task list and it doesn’t get done it tends to stick with you for the rest of the day, night or weekend. What an undefined Root needs is “more time” to get things done.

Systems that put you under pressure may not work well for you if you have this open. Instead picking 1 thing or 1 project to work to completion is better than setting  3 things to get done each day, week or quarter.

This is an example of using pressure as your friend, and not your enemy.

Also remember that, if your pressure center is Open you take in energy from others with a defined pressure center.

For example, if you’re talking to someone who has a sense of urgency, you can feel that and take that in, and suddenly after the call or meeting you put their needs first vs what your strategy and authority says is priority.

If you have an open center it’s important to take 10-15 minutes to declutter the pressure to do everything.

At high expression with a Open Root center:

  • You use your strategy, authority and signature to define what is important to get done in the day/week/month

  • You give yourself enough time to get the important things done and know what you can put on your list and what doesn’t belong for that day/week/month

  • You give yourself work:rest cycles

At low expression with a Open Root Center

  • You constantly rush to get things done so you can feel “free” of things you need to do

  • You hold onto thoughts and feelings that you “have” to get things done even after you’ve close down for the day creating anxiety

  • You get caught in the busy work just to check things off your list
