Ego/Will Center

June 25, 20245 min read

The Ego/Will center is one of the 4 engines, it’s a center of creating value (where you make money) and managing resources (money, energy and people) because it helps you do the “hard” stuff you may not like and get it done, think of this as your Get Shit Done battery.

It’s also a major center of worthiness because what drives this center is proof from “reality” like engagement, what people will say when you speak the truth, money in the bank, stuff you have etc…

However, sheer “will” is limited so you need to manage its capacity by cycling it with rest or downtime.

And because of being a center for worthiness it’s a complex center because we’re influenced and conditioned by others easily whether you’re open or defined.

In Business your Ego/Will Center loves:

  • Healthy validation of your work

  • Earning rewards (money, time freedom, flexibility)

  • Accomplishing goals big and small

When your Ego center is defined (coloured in)

This means you have access to this energy, you know your worth and you’re not afraid to tell how much your charge, or if someone challenges you or trolls you… it bounces off you because when it comes to creating value, managing resources and self-worth, you’re the source. IF you’re at high expression.

Because you have a defined ego center you’re a type of person who gets shit done since you can, and because of that people can ask you to do things for them and you can . But this doesn’t mean you should take everything on, knowing your authority and your signature feeling helps you dictate what to take on.

Now whether it’s defined or open, you still have to cycle down working through the hard things in your business otherwise you drain this battery.

At high expression with an defined Ego/Will:

  • You set clear boundaries and communicate them in a constructive manner

  • Owning your value and what your worth (what you charge, time, energy)

  • Getting help when you need it

  • Takes on the projects and gets the things done that align with where you’re going

  • Able to take ownership/responsibility/accountability of mistakes whether it’s 100% their fault or not

At low expression with an defined Ego/Will:

  • You break your boundaries and take on lots of work even if it’s not aligned with you just because you can get it done

  • Unable to give space for those who don’t have a defined “ego/will” who maybe slower than you

  • Too prideful to ask for help when you need it

  • Stubborn that you can get it all done or it’s faster if you do it

  • Unable to take ownership/responsibility/accountability of mistakes whether it’s 100% their fault or not

When you have your Ego center open (not coloured in)

When you have an undefined will center it means you don't have consistent access to this energy.

And it's important to use your strategy, authority, and your signature feeling to make agreements and promises.

Because if you don't, you use up energy you don't have and run the risk of entering the wrong situations feeling obligated to make yourself follow through.

Also you have to follow your strategy because you can take on other people's will power by modeling it, this can be good cause you can work with different people to absorb other’ people’s “will”, this is why being at a Tony Robbins event or listening to Ed Mylett can make you feel LIT UP!

Then after 2-3 months you feel like your battery is drained.

This is because your open ego/will center takes in or borrows their energy. Which is also why motivation quotes, and inspirational things are so popular because 63% of the population has an open ego/will center so they’re looking for something to help amplify that energy to get shit done!

So you must be cautious to manage your energy and know what's your energy and what's not, and lean into rest or do what gives you your signature feeling to recharge.

However, with an open Ego/Will you have expansive powers, meaning you have the ability to sense others worthiness, if they’re faking it too much, and if they’re burning out and depending if they’re in a space to receive advice you’re able to guide and help them.

At high expression with an open Ego/Will:

  • Setting boundaries because you love yourself enough to value self-care without guilt (working off-hours for your clients, doing extras that eat into your time and energy)

  • Loving the process of growth rather than putting your love into the metrics (Sales, money in the bank account)

  • Sticking to your values, standards and principles when pushed (by someone, pressure by circumstances)

  • Owning your wins, and what you do WITHOUT negating language or downplaying

  • Getting help when you need it

  • Confident and assertive in their decision-making, trusting their own judgment and instincts.

  • Unafraid to take risks and pursue their goals, even in the face of adversity.

  • A person who is unapologetically themselves, with a strong sense of personal identity and authenticity.

  • Able to take ownership/responsibility/accountability of mistakes whether it’s 100% their fault or not

At low expression with an open Ego/Will:

  • Under pressure to prove worth and value

  • Not getting help or accepting help

  • You do things out of spite - I can do this better than them so I'll do it on my own

  • Comparison and jealousy of others

  • Not owning your wins, always negating your wins

  • Compromising on your standards and values

  • Seeking validation from others (saying things to get attention to make you feel better, posting and expecting a metric amount of engagement, basing your worth on only metrics of sales) — this is a sign of a lack of self-confidence

  • Solely basing your success on metrics (money) rather than growth and process of growth, and milestones of who you’re becoming

  • Overly self-critical and constantly doubting their own abilities and worth.

  • Afraid to take risks and pursue their goals, due to a fear of failure or rejection.

  • Struggle to assert themselves and exercise boundaries, often being taken advantage of by others.

  • Inability to take responsibility/accountability/ownership of mistakes and there is deflection or redirection of focus to compensate

  • Avoiding your shadows and outsourcing that to someone else while you have no clue how and what’s done.
