Blogs that grow yourself & your business Using your human Design
Your Human Design energy type helps figure out the best ways for you to market and sell because that's just how you naturally work. (if you haven’t checked your human design chart yet, grab it here)
If this wasn't the case, think about this common scene.
Some coaches seem to effortlessly crush it in their marketing (like messaging and making offers) and selling (like handling DMs and sales calls).
You see them posting their big wins in business programs or masterminds their in.
Meanwhile, other coaches in the same program struggle, even though they have the same system, framework, and coaching access.
The reason?
The particular system fits how they are naturally wired to market and sell but doesn’t suit others.
This is what's great about Human Design—it's your personal blueprint in how you work and flow at your best which allows you to be your highest self.
It’s NOT just About Posting & Selling! There’s an Impact From Your Energy Online
Online, your energy matters a lot because without face-to-face interaction, we miss out on body language and the physical presence of someone.
The only way your audience can connect with you is through the words in your marketing message and how you come across in your videos.
So how do you create, market and sell based on your Human Design chart so your presence is felt and recognized.
It's about showing up in a way that aligns with your nature so you’re able to be consistent rather than subconsciously or consciously saying to yourself:
“Ugh, this isn’t me, but it’s what I was told to do”
“Is anyone listening or reading my stuff?”
“At least, I ticked off another box on my list”
Which is constant resistance small or big from the world of templates, copy and paste scripts or modeling your last coach leading to marketing burn out from constantly fighting resistance.
The Forgotten Foundation To Building an Online Coaching Business
Those who are able to keep showing up. tweaking their message and creating with conviction are the ones who build successful businesses making over six figures.
However, if we use marketing and selling methods that clash with our natural way we’re meant to show-up, we end up forcing things.
This creates resistance all the time.
It means using up lots of emotional and mental energy just to motivate ourselves to start the marketing and sales process.
Many of us are squeezed into a box, following a system that worked for the main coach. Sure, it might work for them and people like them, but what about you?
If it doesn't work for you, then you feel resistance, what do you think your audience will feel?
Imagine doing this for months or even years—it's emotionally and mentally exhausting leading to burnout.
Compare that to letting things flow naturally and feeling drawn to what you need to do, rather than needing a daily pep talk.
Bottom line: your energy matters.
So why not market and sell in a way that's a natural fit for you instead of forcing yourself into a mold?
Exploring The 5 Energy Types
Each of these are unique in how they market and sell:
Manifestor (initiators)
Generator (responders to environment)
Manifesting Generator (a mix of initiating and responding)
Projector (wait to be invited))
Reflector (wait 28 days)
Each energy type has a “strategy,” “authority,” and a “theme,” which define the best ways for them to operate.
Re-Aligning & Re-Training Yourself In What You’ve Been Indoctrinated Into
There is a deeper explanation into how each energy type functions, but for this blog, we're focusing on marketing and sales strategies based on your energy type.
If you haven’t checked your chart yet, I recommend doing that here before reading further.
Let's clarify some terms first.
A "Strategy" is how your energy type approaches life—it’s how you start projects, relationships, new programs, etc.
"Authority" is about how you’re meant to make decisions.
When it comes to decisions, if you're like me, you've been taught to think things through. You weigh the risks, the pros, and the cons etc…
Those factors are important, but your mind is not the chief decision-maker.
Our minds are meant for organizing stuff, framing our beliefs, and making sense of our world, experiences, and challenges. But they don't make the decisions for us.
Instead, our bodies do.
Your specific way of making decisions is shown in your Human Design chart.
Think back to the last big decision you made.
Did you feel it in your gut?
Did something feel right or wrong?
Did you need a few days to think it over before deciding?
And how did things turn out a month later after the decision?
These are all clues to how you naturally make decisions.
Now, consider the decisions you've made just using your mind.
How did those turn out in the end?
Lastly, when I talk about the "Theme" I’m talking about how it refers to the general traits or overarching theme of your energy type.
How Each Person is Uniquely Wired To Market & Sell So You Stop Force Fitting How Others Sell
A Manifestor's strategy is simple.
They can start things. All they need to do is "inform" or "tell" the necessary people, then they go and make it happen.
Their main theme is this: I'm here to make things happen, inspire through bold actions, and I don't need permission to do it! The Manifestor energy type is more of a push energy once they have an idea that aligns, they have the ability to push things out of the way so the ‘thing’ gets done.
And others around them are pulled or inspired to them by their actions
Manifestor Marketing & Sales Strategies
Launch style marketing is very effective for them, along with social selling (like DMs). A launch style is a step-by-step marketing method that "informs" people through your messages—whether emails, social posts, or a series of videos—that you're selling your coaching service or any other offer you have.
The interaction between your message and your audience fits well with this energy type.
They launch, and then they rest, which matches how their energy cycles work—kind of like an interval workout.
Promoting low-dollar offers can also work well for Manifestors when they're inspired. It's good to have one to three low-cost products to sell for people to experience your method then have a sales system that can lead people to your high-ticket program.
Now, who they need to inform is based on their authority, which is the decision-maker shown in your Human Design chart.
They only need to tell those who need to know before you do the thing. In business, this might be your audience, some of your clients, or even your Virtual Assistant (VA).
With a strategy to respond, Generators market and sell differently from Manifestors, who use a lot of "informing" and "initiating."
For a Generator, this type of marketing can lead to frustration and burnout if it feels forced, like a chore over time.
The theme of Generators is about depth and joy— which include, the depth of the work you do, the depth of connections with people, and it's through the joy of how you express your work people are drawn to us.
The best marketing and sales strategies are those that help us connect with people, giving us things to respond to.
Generator Marketing & Sales Strategies
One method is the 'Hand Raiser' technique: create content (social posts, emails, videos) that encourages comments or replies. You then respond via DM, email reply, or comment on the post, which leads to an invitation to connect or explore working with you further in your high-ticket offer.
Another strategy is to use Evergreen Webinars or Challenges. Generators need time and space to find joy in activities outside of work to maintain their energy. This system allows them the freedom to follow their joy any day or week, without worrying about missing out on marketing and sales activities.
Case Studies: Because joy and depth is part of the theme of this energy type, being able to demonstrate your work using well positioned case studies is another method that works well. A case study outlines the journey of how you helped a client and their journey of how they used your program to get results. You can use case studies on your clients or on yourself.
Workshops: This is a method that helps your audience fix 1 specific problem normally around 90 mins and is hands on so they walk away with a tangible result. However you must pick something that gives you joy in because it’s the power of the joy and depth you bring that does the selling to upgrade them into your program.
Use your Authority to guide you in which method aligns with you best.
Manifesting-Generators get the best of both worlds. They are like Generators but also have the ability to start things on their own. These types are often movers and shakers.
You can use the same marketing and sales strategies as Generators but also let yourself start new things as long as it feels right to you based on your Authority.
However, because of this, Manifesting Generators often have many projects going at once, and might only complete each thing about 25% as they move on quickly.
If you’re a Manifesting Generator also consider it’s through action that you may change your mind if you want something else, which is okay. That’s how you naturally operate. However, use your authority and your strategy to make sure you enter into things that align with you and lead you on the path of where you want to go.
A big thing that Mani-Gens need in their business are systems in place. That way, when they feel the urge to switch to something else in their business, everything else can keep running smoothly.
Manifesting Generators Marketing & Sales Strategies:
Evergreen Webinars or Challenges are great because they set up a system that allows freedom. When you feel a strong gut feeling to start something new, you can do so without losing sales in your current projects.
Also, consider Multiple Low Dollar Offers.
Respond to what you see happening around you, market a low-cost product to your audience, and once someone buys, make sure you have a system in place to offer them your high-ticket core product.
Projectors don’t have their own continuous energy supply; they need to balance their work and rest.
The big theme for Projectors is that they're here to speak truth in the moment and guide others. They have a special ability to see the gifts and talents in others and help them achieve their goals.
The strategy for Projectors is “Wait for the invitation.”
This means, like Generators, they should not start things on their own. They wait for others to recognize their talents and gifts.
For example,
Imagine you're sending emails to your list and you explain why someone might not be seeing results because they're doing a process out of order or not addressing the main issue.
Then it resonates with someone and they email back:
“Hey, what you mentioned in your email, what do you offer?”
That is what we call an invitation.
Best Ways for a Projector to Market and Sell
A marketing and sales strategy that suits Projector energy would be to use platforms they enjoy, like Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, or blogging.
Here, you can share your wisdom and coaching offers, starting conversations where people reach out to you through posts, DMs, emails, or by booking calls.
One challenge for Projectors is they can get burned out if they keep trying to initiate the sales process without seeing the expected results or getting the recognition they deserve. This can drain their energy and lead to bitterness towards their business, audience, or the system.
Projector Marketing & Sales Strategies
Evergreen Webinars or Challenges: Projectors need to balance work and rest, which gives them time for reflection to maintain their energy. This setup gives them the freedom to follow their joy any time, without worrying about their marketing and sales activities.
Case Studies: Recognition is important for Projectors. Showcasing well-positioned case studies is effective. A case study details how you helped a client and their journey through your program to achieve results.
You can use case studies on your clients or on yourself.
Workshops: This method helps your audience solve a specific problem in about 90 minutes and is hands-on, so they leave with a real result. Helping your audience achieve a tangible result is a fast way to get recognized for your work, which energizes a Projector. Then, at the end of the workshop or through a follow-up email series, you make an offer, and those who want to invite you will respond.
Reflectors do not have access to their own energy, because all 9 of their energy centers are open. They are here to sit back and observe before acting normally waiting around 28-days when it comes to any big decision.
Yes! 28-days. However, they can shorten that time by talking to others and getting opinions and ideas and as long as it feels aligned with them they can act earlier.
It is important to note that Reflectors need to sit back and observe their environment (trends, people, ideas, economy) and talk to people to ‘gather’ information and energy around them before acting.
This allows this energy type to enter into things there are more correct for them.
Reflector Marketing & Sales Strategies:
Because their energy follows a 28-day cycle, it is best to space out sales. This ensures you have enough emotional and mental space to observe and reflect on your surroundings.
Launch styles and evergreen webinars or challenges are ideal because they provide time and space between events. This helps you prepare for the next step in your business based on what's happening around you, whether in your business or with your messaging.
Low-dollar evergreens usually aren’t effective for this type because of "focus" issues. When Reflectors have too many offers, it can lead to confusion both for themselves and their audience. This also diverts attention from improving their main offer.
Why Human Design is a Powerful Blueprint to Find Peace and Profits in Your Business…
It’s because Human Design gives you a roadmap of what your business revolves around with the “Be → Do → Have” Principle.
Human Design isn’t a personality test that tells you who to be based on random questions and how you felt and your mindset when you answered them.
It shows how you work from an energy perspective, and what you “give off” to others.
However, most of us start backwards when building and growing a business.
We jump into "tell me what to do and I'll do it."
This approach might take you somewhere, but only to a certain point.
Then, you hit a limit. We roll into a default mode and keep pushing and forcing our way through the limit.
Then we start to feel emotional and mental burnout from our business 6 months to a year later because we're doing so many things, but nothing helps us break through.
This happens because when starting and growing a business, we rely on past experiences of what we’ve been conditioned (thoughts, feelings and beliefs that aren’t aligned with you but imprinted) to think and do or past academic training. These experiences shape our beliefs and feelings about building and growing a business.
This happens because the "be" part hasn't been addressed, and we're not equipped to handle the success and growth of the next level and maintain those actions.
Instead, we carry what we’ve been conditioned to be with us into our business, and into how we market and sell.
To have a successful multi-6 figure business, you must first become the right person and leader.
The kind of person who attracts clients who can clearly articulate and express their offer based on your energy type.
Then using your Authority, figure out the things you need to do:
On the journey of acquiring business skills.
Process embodying your energy type and build systems around it
Embody expressing your work and making offers based on your energy type
And the result?
You'll achieve what you want because you are that person who does what they need to do to succeed.
From this viewpoint, you need to work the way you were naturally born to work, and Human Design provides the blueprint to follow and test.
Then, all you need to do is determine the actions or get the skillsets you need using your “authority” and watch as the results come from the aligned actions.
Understanding your energy type and aligning how you market and sell is the first step.
It makes you feel more aligned, and when we feel more aligned in what we do, it helps us be more consistent. As we become more consistent, we can fine-tune our message and our brand voice in our human design to grow and sustain success.
