Decoding Your Energy Centers In How You Get Inspired, Create And Lean Into Success

You have 9 Energy Centers in your body graph represented by the shapes on your chart.

Each of these energy centers represent different energies you have access to or your energy center needs to be switched on by someone, something or an environment that you’re in. 

Knowing how your energy centers work allows you to manage your energy best so you can consistently show up at your best or, when shit hits the fan you know how you work best in that situation to still show up at your best to take care of whatever it is.

They also contribute to your “magnetism” of pulling in the right leads and clients, they contribute to your messaging based on the energy you have access to when you are at high expression.

Every energy center or in fact everything in Human Design, has a “duality” meaning there are two sides of everything like,

  • If revenues are high the other side is there are times where revenues are low

  • If people are happy to join, there is another side where people resist to join

  • If there's a positive side to your gift/talent, there's also a shadow side

The goal is to live our life in a high expression state for the majority of the time, BUT it’s impossible to be 100% because we’re human with embedded emotions.

This means our duality isn’t like a problem that we solve and it’s gone.

It’s about knowing and embodying them so we can manage both sides. Part of the game is understanding how to shift from low to high and reduce the time of being on the low side of the scale.

Here are some examples:

Being in high expression state in your centers:

  • Ideas come easy to you

  • You take in advice/information and connect the dots faster

  • You respond with resolve (a calmness)

  • You don't have shiny object syndrome

  • You’re able to give space to others (on your team or your clients)

  • You’re not easily triggered by what others say, do or what’s happening

  • You’re able to focus on the actions that help you grow

  • You lean into who you are (the limitations of your energy, and the strengths)

  • You’re not depending on a script and leadership based words come naturally to you on sales calls

And here are examples of being in a low expression state:

  • Ideas are harder to come by or don’t

  • Blaming others or using accountability as an excuse on others

  • You respond with anxiety so others feel the pressure to get results now

  • You fall into shiny object syndrome

  • You’re easily triggered by things or what someone says 

  • Not-self feelings towards your business, team and audience

  • Seeking instant gratification so you work more or do “busy” work instead of growth work

  • Depending on others to tell you exactly what to do 

The goal is  we want to be in high expression of ourselves as much as possible or know how to get out of the low expression state as quickly as possible. This is where the beauty of Human Design comes in.

Instead of using the 50 different mindset tools, this helps you pin-point where the low expression state is coming from and you can put focus on it.

As a rule of thumb, it’s common, as business owners, it comes from the Open centers first because it’s affected and influenced by the environment.

Also, as a reminder, we want to FIRST make sure we follow our strategy and authority, as well as our signature for a check-in, then use your profile to walk those paths in what we engage with and start, which creates the reality/situation then  activates our energy centers in those situations.

When it comes to marketing and sales, how we market is we use our dominant energy centers and market to either our avatar’s or Low expression of their own energy center their Open centers. (you won’t know this, but if your marketing message is on point, then you’ll find a pattern as you enroll clients)

Defined Energy Centers (Colored in shapes)

When you look at the shapes on your bodygraph the coloured shapes are what you have defined.

Defined means you have access to that energy center, and each energy center has an ability to express high or low.

Your defined energy centers are also what you use to market to your ideal clients because you’ve used these energy centers in what you’re doing right now.

Undefined / Open Energy Centers (white shapes)

The Undefined or Open centers means those energy centers are centers that are fluid and can change depending on the environment you’re in or the people you surround yourself with.

However, on another note, the Open centers are also powerful if you understand how to use your energy. You take things from the environment or when you talk to people and you amplify them.
